in Litigation competitive greatness sets us apart.

Mindset Matters.

We do more than explain guidelines. We partner to analyze needs and create highly efficient and effective resolutions in Litigation.

Farria Law Group is dedicated to breaking down complexity and ensuring our clients and business partners reach positive resolution in situations that require civil and commercial litigation.

"We have a passion for the services and partnerships we create. We recently assisted a client through litigation that netted them a six-figure payment, simply by serving as a proxy for another larger entity. The larger entity wanted to keep its presence in the background. The client's risk was diminished and they faced zero exposure on this deal."

"Profit margins matter. We created a strong partnership with a young entrepreneur who runs her own media production company. We drafted the investor agreement that she used to secure her first round of seed money. The results were outstanding and she was able to get her television pilot into production."

Here is the timeline to help define litigation

When a party is injured or wronged, the first phase in litigation is the pleading phase. A complaint needs to be filed to begin the tort claims. Then the other party can assert its defense. A skilled Fort Worth Attorney from the Farria Law Group will ensure the claims are issued with precision. Do not let a less experienced business law firm handle your case and risk setbacks and delays.

Discovery is phase 2. Both parties learn more about the suit. All evidence and witnesses are revealed. Pleadings can be modified as needed. Motion for summary judgment is a way for a party to get an early judgment and leap frog around the trial.

Trial is next. Opening statements are made, witnesses provide testimonies, cross examination occurs, and final statements are made. Motion for judgment as a matter of law in the middle of trial. This is an attempt to avoid jury deliberation.
Last but never least, a judgment is reached. The judgment is used to issue an award or resolution. Post trial motions are avoidable risks that an experienced litigation lawyer is aware of, as they are motions for judgment as a matter of law to allow a "re-do" with a new jury.

Judge versus Jury

The Judge is the umpire in the court. They decide legal questions and supervise the process. They can also wear the hat as Trier of fact, which is more commonly the fact finder jury role. The jury decides the facts and applies the law to the facts as directed by the judge. They determine the evidence, credibility of witnesses, and render a verdict.

Business Law

Business law encompasses all of the laws that determine how to form and run a business: start, buy, manage, close, and sell a business. A savvy business person will seek the advice of business law attorney or business law group to steer through federal and state laws. Properly creating, or corporate formation, and running each type of corporation, partnership, and limited liability companies is guidance that we believe a skilled Fort Worth Attorney from Farria Law Group can serve you with the highest regard and results. Partnerships, sole proprietorship, and all specific papers that need to be filed to start the business have an extremely high impact on tax law. Attempting to use a cut rate business law firm may save money up front, but it is not optimal if long term success is the ultimate goal.

FAQ | Frequently Asked Questions

How do you name your business?
  • Trademark, Intellectual Property Protection, and Branding

Are licenses and special permits needed?
  • Local and state laws vary and need to be analyzed precisely

How can I advertise without running into litigation?
  • Consumer protection laws need to be understood and planned strategically

What if I buy a business? What do I own?

How do I manage Contracts?
  • Contract  law will determine new long term agreements and existing  contracts to maintain. Breach of contract is when one party doesn't hold up one end of the bargain.
  • It is common to disagree on contracts and important to negotiate well so long term agreements don't turn into anchors or long term losses. We believe Farria Law Group has an amazing Fort Worth Attorney with expertise as a civil litigation attorney, well versed in negotiation, and will steer toward good faith interests to ensure contracts are scoped well.

Is Commercial Litigation all the same?
  • Commercial litigation is all about tailor made services for each client. Adaptable, agile, and technical expertise are what separate the good from the great in litigation. There's a better way to solve tough negotiations and the key to success is for the lawyer to listen to the client and make sure the end result is of mutual benefit.
